I always find the schematic as loot before then. I found one crucible that I have to switch between my forges. Almost all traders will have one or several in their secret stash, and they're not very expensive.

Thanks for the reminder, I think that's the missing part of my gameplay right now. I'm seeing all these posts of people on day x with level 6 gear, and I'm still rocking basic iron tools that I made myself. Trading and looting is where the game's at, I just need to do it. Yeah, the RNG can be wonky like that. On my current game, I found it before day 7 with Lucky Looter 3 and looting as many bookstores as I could find. I never had to make my own because I found two crucibles in a single Working Stiff crate, and three more in the same store.

I need to get the pregen1 map layout. Yeah I have max lucky looter and I wear the lucky glasses when I remember to switch between them and the nerdy glasses. That's pretty shitty.

Where are the Auger Parts? - 7 Days to Die

No wonder you haven't found them yet. The high school and the Navezgane Survivors school both have good libraries, and it doesn't look like Pregen01 has any of those. So Pregen01 really sucks for books. I've been using Nitrogen to make my maps, and it gives a more balanced variety of buildings. And it doesn't leave out the skyscrapers either. Nice thanjs. I've found a already made crucible on day 1 once or twice with nothing in lucky looter at all, its all rng.

You just gotta know what kind of loot boxes to hunt for, which for crucible working stiff boxes is the best bet I feel for schematic or a already made one. I think the fourth point in the same perk that also gives you the forge and workbench unlocks it for you. You'll need a very high intellect stat for that though, so you'll almost always find the schematic first.

You can Learn it from the perk Waste of skill points imo as the entire int line is mostly, I just get adv engineering 1 which takes no int just 1 perk point mostly for the faster forge craft speedfind the schematic OR you can even find a completly made one in the working stiff boxes.

Very rare to find a already made one but its happened for me a few times. My first A18 playthrough I hadn't found a crucible or schematic through day 21 even with 3 points in lucky looter pretty early on and 3 traders in close proximity that I checked every 3 days. I made a new game to fuck around for a little bit and found a crucible on day 1 with no lucky looter, kind of annoying. RNG sucks. After a18 you need a schematic to build crucible and I have everything to build a 4x4 except steel which I need a crucible now to get. No you don't. You only need to unlock advanced engineering 5. Finding the schematic just allows you to make it without doing advanced engineering. I think the largest chance for crucible is working stiff buildings. Then again its RNG, so luck is a factor. I got my crucible and blueprint after I unlocked it through the INT tree : about 3d ingame time later.

If you plan on upgrading INT for example if you want solar panelscrucibles seem to appear a lot in the upgraded traders stash I don't remember starting from what level unfortunately. Definitely less than 5. You definitely need maxxed out lucky looter to help with that.

Yeah, you CAN find it without Lucky Looter, but a 0 loot bonus is rough for trying to find end-game items. I looted a crucible very early in game, i don't even have a forge yet I can't remember where i found it exactly, but i know you can. I fully understand that A18 has shifted the gameplay over to more of a scavenging type of gameplay and I'm perfectly okay with that. I'm also fully okay that the cost of building has gone up and it's taking me longer to get my defenses in place. Yesterday though I found the first change that has me shaking my head.

I use blade traps as an integral part of my mid-game base setup. I unlocked Advanced Engineering 3 and as I start looking at the trap recipes I see that blade traps require Forged Steel. That's fully 12 levels above the point where I first get a recipe that requires Forged Steel.

I get it.

I can find a crucible in random loot. I can find a crucible schematic in loot. I can try and find a trader that has either of these. I can even loot or buy Forged Steel and try to save up enough to make the blade traps and have enough on hand to repair them.

This is higher than in any previous Alpha. Lowering it to Advanced Engineering 3, where Forged Steel is first needed for recipes, would be even better of course but that's probably pushing my luck. Level gates became stat gates now.

I felt it was a little bit of a bait and switch, but certainly its better than both together. INT 10 seems really high, especially if one considered there more than just blade traps that require forged steel. Here is where I diverge from that though: Once you have common access to steel in a forge, you've definitely reached an end-game stage.

Steel crafting might be TFP's version of the victory cigar. To me its up there in the same category as gyrocopters. To make any weapon or tool that requires Forged Steel also requires "parts" for those items. Because of that I do not see that Forged Steel in and of itself makes one OP or will trivialize end-game content.

Select2 theme

I haven't looked at this exhaustively but the things you can make with Forged Steel that don't require "parts" is pretty limited i. Yeah, even I don't care of being able to craft this or that and prefer to kneel and pray mother RNG, it seems illogical to not being able to craft silver ingots earlier for an intel guy.

I don't choose the intel branch but after having found the crucible day 1 on my two last games, I can understand how exasperating it can be for a "crafter". I've learned that being pure INT is actually non-essential in this game. INT doesn't make you a Crafter necessarily either. It adds mostly to your quality of life and convenience of making your own stations, which is a solid boon mind you. But, everyone has the ability to be a crafter if they get enough schematics.

Most of the things I wish my INT builder actually could craft are items that are in other trees. Pure INT builds do not give me the ability to craft t5 tools or weapons. Someone else has to do that for me. With the Crucible at level 10 Int I didn't even bother trying to get it. I've just found some while looting or bought one from the trader.

The thing is that this can be a very important branch in multiplayers games : it's the certainty of being able to build workstations, vehicles and electrical defenses without depending on luck. In MP, it's another story. Most of the complaints about the crucible being too high I brush off.More than one Wheel is needed to assemble a vehicle. I am still looking for a crucible in A18and I know I can level up so I can make one myself But does anyone know where there is a high chance to find one? Or at least a schematic for it?

The trader did not have one or the other I'm in Navezgane, by the way. Showing 1 - 7 of 7 comments. There is no high chance anywhere. As far as the schematic its part of the normal book loot, so any booksehelf.

It doesn't matter what POI that bookshelf is in for instance. Same with loot.

Juniper wan failover

I'd imagine it can drop from a working stiff crate, but again any POI that has one. In this case, I vote for lowering the requirements for making crucibles from tier 5 Advanced Engineering to tier 4.

I understand that it's a premium item now, and this makes sense to me, but a tiny bit lower prerequisites would not hurt the challenge of the game, I believe. Moralarty View Profile View Posts. Also this is a question, needs to be posted in gen questions, not gen discussion.
